The movie "Sympathy
for Lady Vengeance" is one you have to watch at least twice to
catch everything. A lot of the clues are visual, so try not to focus
on the subtitles the second time.

This is the third in the vengeance trilogy. It has the best production
values and is the most thought provoking. There is a commentary by
an American film critic on the DVD, which explains some of the ideas,
but you can figure them out on the second viewing.
Like Park Chan-wook's other two vengeance movies, there is plenty of
graphic violence and "sex," but at least this one doesn't
have incest. The violence has a purpose, and you don't like blood,
you shouldn't
watch the movie.

The vengeance movies and most modern South Korean movies have a gritty
feel. Don't expect the actors to be gorgeous. Lee
Yeong-ae is a hottie
in real life, but not it the movie. The movie is artistic but not
in a slow, lame way.
If you are a fan of the 70s Japanese exploitation movies like "Lady
Snowbird," you'll like this movie. It operates on a much
higher level, but it
has the same vengeance theme.
I recommend this DVD because it is highly rewatchable, and it rocks.
